It came down to the last play, but the Panthers were on the wrong end of a 3-2 loss to Bullard on Saturday afternoon.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Bullard pitchers truck out five, while the Panthers sat down four.
The Panthers got things started in the second inning when they scored two runs on Bryant Kings double.
The Panthers called on Alex Brown to take the ball on the bump. Brown went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out three. Brennan Ferguson came in relief and surrendered one run on one hit over two and third innings, striking out one and walking zero. Ferguson took the loss for the Panthers.
The Panthers did out-hit Bullard by tallying seven hits on the day. King and Blake Barlow collected multiple hits.
The Panthers finished the regular season and district with a record of 20-6 (9-3). They locked up the 2 seed in District 16-4A and will take on Gilmer in the first round of the Playoffs.
