The Panther soccer team played well enough to win but did not get the result they needed in a 3-2 district loss to Henderson. The game’s first 20 minutes were controlled the Lions and it led to an empty-net 1-0 lead after a cross. The game then became a seesaw affair after the with both teams getting clear scoring chances. Nathan Hammett found Peyton White down the right flank who chipped the GK to tie the gane at 1-1. Minutes later, Manuel Flores earned a penalty kick when he was fouled in the box but he was unable to convert. Henderson scored their second goal late in the first half with a free kick. The Panthers (11-10, 4-6 in district) missed on a few clear scoring chances until they tied the score on Chandler Thaden’s header off a Flores corner kick. Henderson capitalized on a loose ball in the SH box with ten minutes left to take the lead for good. Spring Hill will honor their seniors on Friday’s last home game versus Carthage at 7:00pm.
