After a great defensive battle, Spring Hill pulls out a victory against an undefeated Gilmer team. Spring Hill had two athletes set successful charges that changed the momentum of the game. These two athletes were Tyrese Jones and Austin Rodgers. Austin Rodgers got his first start of the season and it paid dividends as he scored 4 points and had several great defensive plays.

Spring Hill went into the game knowing that Gilmer was undefeated and knew Gilmer was a tough place to play. They scratched and clawed for every point and were stingy on defense. The game was close after one quarter with a the Panthers leading by three, but they pulled away after 2 and ended the half 23-12. Feeling good coming out of halftime, Spring Hill continued to dominate defensively. Aaron Collier had one of his best games of the year, providing Spring Hill with points in every quarter off of offensive putbacks. Collier dominated the boards with 10 plus in his first double-double of the season.

Tyrese Jones played a great game as the leader of the Panthers and contributed in all aspects of the game. Leading the game in scoring was Aaron Collier with 13. Curtis Crowe and Kyren Miller, both added 7 points to the Panthers total. Austin Rodgers had 4 points followed, by Tyrese Jones’ 3 points. Colin Martin stepped in and played a big role off the bench with a bucket.

Spring Hill remains undefeated in district and will travel to Bullard on Tuesday and play after the JV girls game on the auxiliary court around 6:00 PM.
