Both Spring Hill and Chapel Hill had their offense going on Tuesday night, but the Panthers prevailed 10-7. Spring Hill drew first blood when Jade Bowden doubled in the first inning, scoring Sam Schott and Kenzie Gee, both who had singled to start the game. Chapel Hill was able to match those two runs with two in their first inning.
Spring Hill took the lead for good with seven runs in the fourth inning. Avery Mercer doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Kaycee Campbell laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring a run, Rachel Doss and Sadie Sparks each walked, scoring runs for each. Doss and Sparks then both scored on a wild pitch.
The Panthers had seven hits for the game. Schott, Bowden, and Mercer each had two. Gee had the other one for Spring Hill.
Schott took the win in the circle. She allowed two hits and four runs (two earned) over four innings. She struck out three. Sparks pitched three innings, giving up four hits and three runs (two earned). She struck out one.
The Panthers (5-12, 2-5) will host Gilmer on Friday, April 12, at 6: 00 pm.
