The Longview Lobos got up on the Panther softball team early putting three runs up on the board in bottom of the first inning. Spring Hill joined the runs scoring in the top of the second inning when they put up two runs of their own. Paige Wilstead singled to left field. Rachel Doss reached base on an error, followed by Avery Mercer reaching base on another Lobo error, allowing Wilstead to score from second base and Doss moving to third base. Kenzie Gee then sacrified to the pitcher, allowing Doss to score, making it 3-2 Longview.
The Lobos pushed two more runs across to stretch their lead to 5-2 in the bottom of the second inning. Sam Schott singled to start the third inning. Sadie Sparks sacrificed to advance Schott to second base. Jade Bowden then advance her to third base. Hadleigh Childers then hit a solid shot up the middle to allow Schott to score, closing the margin to 5-3. Wilstead then doubled, advancing Childers to third base. Doss continued the hit parade with a single of her own, scoring Childers.
Longview then proceeded to find holes in the defense and get runners across the plate, finishing the game at 11-4 for the Lobos. Sparks worked in the circle for Spring Hill, allowing eleven runs on nine hits and struck out three.
Spring Hill (2-3) will have a rematch with Longview on Saturday morning at 10:30 at Lobo Field.
