Girls Varsity Softball · Panther Softball Starts ’19 Season with Win Over Waskom

The Spring Hill Softball team traveled to Waskom to open their 2019 season and proceeded to win soundly, 12-2. Schott, 3-3 with a walk, a single, and a double, had 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. She got the win in the circle for Spring Hill, pitching all 7 innings. She gave up 2 runs (1 earned) and 4 hits. She walked 1 and had 14 strikeouts.

Sadie Sparks had 3 hits on the night. Rachel Doss, Paige Wilstead, Jade Bowden, and Hadleigh Childers each had two hits. Kenzie Gee had 1 hit.

The Panthers swiped 8 bases on the night, led by Schott with 2. The defense stood strong behind Schott in the circle, playing error-less ball.

Spring Hill will play Liberty-Eylau Thursday, February 14, at 11 am in the Longview Lobo Tournament. That game will be at Longview HS. The Panthers will then take on John Tyler at Lear Park at 3 pm.
