Spring Hill fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-2 loss to Kilgore on Monday. Kilgore scored on a double by Bailey Hedges in the first inning and a single by Hailee Jo Lewis in the first inning.
Kristen Wilson toed the rubber for Kilgore. She surrendered two runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking zero.
Samantha Schott got the start for Spring Hill. She went two innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out one. Sadie Sparks and Rachel Doss entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and two innings respectively.
Sydney Johnson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Spring Hill in hits with a home run, single, and a double Jayla Landrum followed Johnson’s double with one of her own to account for the Panther runs.
Kilgore tallied eight hits. Lewis and Hedges each had multiple hits for Kilgore. Kilgore didn’t commit a single error in the field. Miah Thomas had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
