Gage White and Ryan Willis teamed up for a quartet of touchdown passes, Kiante Stoker rushed for 116 yards and the Spring Hill Panthers improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 49-20 win over the Brownsboro Bears at Panther Stadium.
White completed 8 of 10 passes for 167 yards â 150 of the yards going to Willis.
The Panthers drove 50 yards in just three plays to open the scoring, with White hitting Willis on a 36-yard scoring toss and Efren Barcenas booting the extra point for a 7-0 lead five minutes into the contest.
Three minutes later, White and Willis hooked up again â this time from 20 yards out â to make it a 14-0 contest with 4:15 remaining in the opening period.
Brownsboro answered with a 1-yard run by quarterback Jonathan Furrett, but the Panthers scored on the final play of the quarter when Stoker broke off a 66-yard run as time expired.
With 8:54 to play in the half, Brownsboro made it a 21-12 fontest on a 14-yard run by Kevin Thompson, but a White-to-Willis TD strike of 38 yards on the final play of the half sent the Panthers into the lockerroom with a 28-12 cushion.
The Panthers recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff of the second half, and White scored on a 7-yard run less than a minute into the third quarter to extend the Panthersâ lead. Richard Martin recovered the fumble for the Panthers.
Whiteâs 13-yard TD pass to Willis with 9:18 to play in he third extended the Spring Hill lead to 42-12, and after Kenneth Wood scored on a 1-yard run for Brownsboro with 4:11 to play in the third, the Panthers capped the scoring early in the fourth on a 5-yard run by Zach Tulpa to cap a 6-play, 54-yard drive and make the final 49-20.
Spring Hill will visit White Oak on Friday.
